What kind of insulin is TOUJEO®?
Long-acting basal insulin
When your body does not produce enough insulin, an injection of TOUJEO® replaces it to lower your blood sugar levels. TOUJEO® delivers basal insulin by injection via the pre-filled SoloSTAR® or DoubleSTAR® pens.
TOUJEO® is available in the easy-to-use SoloSTAR® (1.5 mL) and DoubleSTAR® (3 mL) pre-filled disposable pens.

What is TOUJEO® made of?
300 units in every mL
TOUJEO® is a basal insulin that contains 300 units per mL of insulin glargine—3 times as much per mL as standard insulin (100 U/mL).
How often do I take TOUJEO®?
Convenient once-daily dosing
TOUJEO® may fit into your daily routine. You take it once a day at the same time that works for your schedule—morning, afternoon, or evening.
What are the risks of insulin therapy, including hypoglycemia?
Like all insulins, TOUJEO® may cause side effects. The most common side effect is hypoglycemia (low blood sugar, <3.9 mmol/L), which can happen when you are ill or stressed, eat too little, or exercise more than usual. Warning signs may include confusion or, in severe cases, loss of consciousness.
What other side effects do I need to know about with TOUJEO®?
Other possible side effects include: Reactions at the injection site, weight gain, swelling of hands and feet, or allergic reactions.
